Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
General
Is ATL Ticket Exchange affiliated with any Atlanta sports teams or venues?
No. We are an independent peer-to-peer marketplace and have no affiliation with any team, venue, league, or official ticketing company. All team names, logos, and trademarks are property of their respective owners.
Is it free to use?
Yes. Creating an account and listing tickets is free. We offer optional credits for featured placement, which puts your listing at the top of search results.
Do you guarantee tickets?
No. ATL Ticket Exchange is a listing platform. We do not verify tickets, hold funds, or guarantee any transaction. All transactions are between buyers and sellers directly. You assume all risk when transacting.
Buying Tickets
How do I pay for tickets?
Payment is arranged directly between buyer and seller. Common methods include Venmo, Zelle, Cash App, and in-person cash. We do not process or hold payments.
What if the tickets are fake or the seller doesn't show up?
Unfortunately, ATL Ticket Exchange cannot refund or recover payments made peer-to-peer. We strongly recommend verifying ticket authenticity before sending payment. You can report fraudulent users to our moderation team, but we cannot guarantee recovery of funds. This is a peer-to-peer marketplace — you transact at your own risk.
How do I know if a seller is trustworthy?
Check their BST score and feedback history on their profile. Sellers with higher scores and verified Trusted or Power Seller status have a track record of successful transactions. New sellers (probationary) may have limited history.
Can I get a refund if an event is cancelled?
Refund policies are between the buyer and seller. ATL Ticket Exchange is not involved in refunds. We recommend discussing this with the seller before transacting.
Selling Tickets
Can I list tickets at any price?
Yes, you may list tickets at whatever price you choose. State and local laws regarding ticket resale may apply — you are responsible for complying with applicable laws in your jurisdiction.
What happens if my listing expires?
Listings expire in two ways: automatically after 30 days, or 3 hours after the event's start time — whichever comes first. The 3-hour window after start time allows last-minute deals to still happen. Once expired, you can relist at any time for a future event.
My account is on probation — what does that mean?
New accounts start on probation, which means your first few listings require admin review before going live. This protects the community from fraudulent sellers. Once enough listings are approved, probation is lifted automatically and your future listings go live immediately. Verified Season Ticket Holders and admin accounts are never subject to probation.
Messages & Notifications
How does messaging work?
When a buyer is interested in a listing, they send a message through the platform. This starts a private conversation between the buyer and seller — think of it like a direct message thread tied to that specific listing. All messages stay on-platform; your email address is never shared with the other party.
Will I get notified when someone messages me?
Yes. When you receive a new message, we send an email notification to your registered email address with a link to the conversation. We also display an unread message indicator in the navigation when you're logged in.
Will I get notified when a new listing is posted?
Yes, if you use Saved Searches. You can save any search (venue, event, price range, etc.) and we'll send you an email when a new listing matches your criteria. Saved searches can be found in your account dashboard.
How do I turn off email notifications?
Go to Settings → Notifications in your account. You can toggle off message alerts, new listing alerts, or both independently.
Can I message a seller without being logged in?
No. You must have a verified account to contact a seller. This protects both parties and keeps the community accountable.
What should I do if a seller isn't responding?
Sellers are notified by email when you message them. If you don't hear back within 24–48 hours, the seller may have already sold the tickets or may be inactive. Try contacting another seller or check back — listings refresh often.
Credits & Featured Listings
How do credits work?
Credits are purchased in packages and used to feature listings. Featured listings appear at the top of search results. Credits are deducted when your listing enters the featured queue and returned if you cancel before the slot is used.
Do credits expire?
No, credits do not expire.
Are credits refundable?
Credit packages purchased via Stripe are non-refundable once purchased, except as required by law.
BST Scores & Feedback Integrity
What is a BST score?
BST (Buy/Sell/Trade) score reflects your reputation as a community member based on feedback from real transactions. It is calculated from verified positive, neutral, and negative ratings left by your trading partners.
Can I manipulate my BST score?
No. Attempting to do so is a violation of our Terms of Service and will result in a permanent ban. This includes creating fake transactions, using secondary accounts to leave yourself feedback, or tagging buyers who never actually messaged you about a listing.
What protections are in place against fake feedback?
- Conversation required: You can only tag a buyer when marking a listing as sold if that buyer has an active message thread with you on that listing.
- Buyer confirmation: Buyers must confirm that a transaction happened before their feedback becomes eligible — they cannot leave feedback on a sale they didn't actually make.
- Account age check: Feedback from newly created accounts is held for admin review before it counts toward any BST score.
- Repeat pair limits: Feedback between the same two users more than once within 30 days is held for admin review.
What happens if I'm caught manipulating my score?
Your account will be permanently banned without warning. Any fraudulent feedback will be removed. We take BST integrity seriously — the score is only valuable if it is honest.
Account & Safety
Can my account be banned?
Yes. Accounts found to be posting fraudulent listings, harassing other users, manipulating BST scores, or violating our Terms of Service may be permanently banned without notice.
How do I report a problem user?
Use the report function on the user's listing or profile, or contact our moderation team through the site.
