Can Jarred hang in there as the fourth outfielder? I was a big fan of the Jarred Kelenic trade last year. Opportunities to grab a 24-year-old former top 10 overall pick don’t happen very often. But he couldn’t follow his 2023 season trajectory and cement himself as a starter in Atlanta. He should play everyday until Ronald Acuña Jr. returns from injury. So he has at least 6-8 weeks to hold on to a starting role to start the year.
But will Jarred Kelenic provide much beyond replacement level? How often are the Braves going to play fourth outfielder with not much bat? It appears that he is making an effort to not chase as much this spring, so maybe he has turned the corner. But it’s Spring Training so, eh.
I might be worried over nothing. Tell me he’ll break out this year. Or not.
