Braves go for their first series win of the season.
The Braves have a chance to do something on Thursday night they have been unable to do all year: win a series. It’s a little crazy to type and read that sentence a full two weeks into the season, but here we are, with the Braves searching for answers after an abysmal 2-9 start.
Fortunately, Atlanta will have arguably its best pitcher, Spencer Schwellenbach, on the mound tonight. Schwellenbach was superb against Philadelphia as a rookie last season while giving up just three runs over 12.2 innings with 15 strikeouts. The Braves will need him to be sharp as Jesus Luzardo has been excellent in the early going after a down season with the Marlins.
First pitch at 7:15 p.m. ET from Truist Park.
