Saturday is the second day of the season for all levels below Triple-A, and the Braves system is hoping to build upon a day where they took three out of four games on the slate. Players to Watch
Following an 11-inning affair that saw Stripers pitching give up only two hits, all eyes are back on the rehabbing Sean Murphy as well as the second game for Alex Verdugo. It will be a good test for them here, as Nashville is starting a serious prospect in right-hander Jacob Misiorowski against Gwinnett’s lineup filled with guys that have big league experience.

Players to Watch
With both starting pitchers yet to be announced, the key players are the two hitters who stood out in the opener. As Columbus tries to flip the script following being the only affiliate to lose on Friday, James McCann (2-3, 2 2B) and David McCabe (1-3, HR, BB) will be the keys to the Columbus offense. McCann is in Double-A only because he is trying to ramp up and the catcher spot is temporarily blocked in Gwinnett by Sean Murphy, while McCabe is trying to come back from a lost year due to injury and a rough go of it late in the season when he returned.

Players to Watch
The Braves 11th round pick last year out of St. Louis, outfielder Patrick Clohisy, went three for four in his season debut and is a player known for his hit tool. He is certainly a player to keep an eye on in the Rome game. Following being named a player to watch yesterday, EJ Exposito opened his year by hitting a homer yesterday.
On the pitching side it will be the first start for Garrett Baumann. The now-20-year-old had a very solid year in Augusta last year before making one single start here to close out the season. Baumann has emerged as one of the Top 10 prospects in the system, and this game could give him the chance to start out 2025 on the right foot.
As of publishing, this game has already taken place so be sure to return for our take on this game in our nightly recap!

Honestly you could put most of the Augusta lineup here and get the answer correct. The toolsy trio of John Gil, Luis Guanipa, and Isaiah Drake are players you always want to keep your eye on in this one, as is slugging catcher Nick Montgomery. Then there are outfielders Eric Hartman and Owen Carey as players with some promise who looked good on Opening Day.
