One game on the slate on Saturday, as Triple-A is the only level to begin play yet. After a tough loss on Opening Day, the Gwinnett Stripers square off against the Charlotte Knights in the second game of the series - and season. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 ET. The rest of the Atlanta Braves’ minor league teams — not including FCL and DSL squads — will play their first games next Friday, April 4.

Gwinnett’s lineup has a few changes from Opening Day, starting with Matthew Batten and Cody Milligan in for Jose Devers and Charles Leblanc. The lineup hopes to have a bit more of an offensive showing than what we saw on Friday.
As of now, the Charlotte lineup is still TBD, but is expected to feature two of the top prospects in all of baseball in Kyle Teel and Colson Montgomery.
Players to watch
The Braves Triple-A team is certainly loaded with big league depth pieces. Garrett Cooper, Jake Marisnick, Conner Capel, Sandy Leon, Luke Williams, Eddy Alvarez, Jose Devers, and Charles LeBlanc all have big league experience, while Luke Waddell is still a fringe prospect in the Braves system. That is just among the hitters, while the bullpen is also loaded with similar depth pieces like Jesse Chavez, Buck Farmer, and Chasen Shreve among others.
The player to watch for the Stripers is clearly the big league star, Spencer Strider. Strider continues his comeback from his second Tommy John surgery last spring, and is making his first minor league rehab start after a promising short run in spring training games towards the end of the slate. I think what we saw out of Strider in the spring has helped to answer a lot of questions about his comeback, and this is more of a tune-up appearance where he can come in and dominate some minor league hitters.
The player to watch for Charlotte is Nick Nastrini, a former fourth round pick by the Dodgers who was traded to the White Sox in 2023 in the Lance Lynn deal. The right-handed pitcher ranks as the No. 27 prospect in their system this spring according to Pipeline. Nastrini made a number of starts for the record-setting White Sox last year, and like most of his teammates struggled to establish himself in the big leagues in his first taste of the show. Nastrini will be on the mound hoping he can put last year behind him.
