Or, is the playing field set? The meaningful free agents are off the board, but trades, trades can strike at any time. That’s the question for today: does this offseason have one more big trade in it? If so, who’s getting moved?
Dylan Cease seems like the obvious answer, and it’s hard to say whether the Padres adding Nick Pivetta actually increases, or decreases, the likelihood that Cease gets moved. They may choose to move one of their backend starters instead, which I’m not sure would really qualify as a big trade, anyway. But, that’s for you to decide. Have at it!
