The free agent market for arms continues to become smaller by the day. As the overnight progressed from Sunday into Monday, the baseball world continued to stay busy. Lefty Sean Manaea returned to the Mets on a big 3-year deal. Meanwhile, Walker Buehler, a popular target among Braves fans (I liked the idea too), signed a 1 year deal with the Red Sox.
It was another day where an NL East rival got better while a sensible target went elsewhere. It was also another day where the supply of sensible options to fill the Braves needs got even smaller. But with the how expensive players are right now, it is another reminder that the Braves are on the search for value, and plenty of it can be had, even it seems likely to happen via a trade in time.
