Atlanta Braves news and notes from Friday. It was a slow day on the news front for the Atlanta Braves, but things will be heating up shortly as the Winter Meetings are just one day away. The club has several things to address; luckily, Justin Toscano of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and David O’Brien of the Athletic each compiled to-do lists ahead of the meetings in Dallas.

The New York Mets have reportedly signed right-hander Clay Holmes to a three-year, $38M deal and will use him as a starter.
The Cleveland Guardians have reunited with Shane Bieber as the two agreed to a one-year, $10M deal. The deal also includes a $16M player option for 2026.
The Tampa Bay Rays have signed catcher Danny Jansen to a one-year deal. He is guaranteed $8.5M.
The San Diego Padres have announced their 2025 coaching staff.
The Chicago Cubs hired Jose Javier as first base coach, replacing Mike Napoli.
The New York Mets acquired minor leaguer Sean Harney from the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for international bonus pool money.
