Atlanta Braves news and notes from Wednesday Well the offseason continues to be in a bit of a lull at the moment, after the pre-Thanksgiving flurry. That said, there has been fairly consistent reporting for a couple weeks now that Juan Soto could decide his destination during or before the winter meetings, taking place next week. Soto being the seismic domino of this offseason, his signing combined with the usual increase of activity at the meetings could break the dam and really get this hot stove cooking. Keep an eye out for not only Braves’ news, but league-wide news in the upcoming week.

Koyo Aoyogi was posted by his NPB team, the Hanshin Tigers, and he seems like more of a depth bullpen arm option, but the 45-day window for his signing does force some deadline of action for any potential suitors.
The notoriously trade-happy Mariners have reportedly had discussions about trades for Alec Bohm and Nico Hoerner.
Part of The Athletic’s rumor roundup included that more teams are interested in signing old friend Michael Soroka as a starter than as a reliever so far this offseason.
