The only Braves player to make it as a finalist for a BBWAA award is also a massive favorite to win his respective award. Major League Baseball has officially revealed the finalists for each of the BBWAA awards, with the winners set to be revealed over the coming weeks. As expected, the Atlanta Braves will have one representative among the finalists, as starter Chris Sale has officially been named as one of three finalists for the NL Cy Young Award here in 2024.

Here’s a quick refresher when it comes to Sale’s credentials for the Cy Young Award: He led all qualified starters in K/9 (11.40), strikeout percentage (32.1 percent), HR/9 (0.46), HR/FB rate (6.3 percent), ERA (2.38), FIP (2.09), ERA- (57), FIP- (53) and xFIP- (66). Zack Wheeler had another fine season and this won’t be the last time we see Paul Skenes get nominated for this award but there’s a clear favorite here and it’s Chris Sale. We’ll know for sure on November 20 if the voters get it right or not.
