It’s the most objectively correct choice, too Well, there was a thing where some people voted on the biggest reason the Braves might miss the (overly-expanded, bloated) postseason in 2024, and it turns out that the most votes were received by the expected category — injuries.

This is, of course, not particularly surprising — maybe the more surprising part is that “injuries” only received 65 percent of the vote. After all, you can sketch it out yourself: take the lost WAR from injuries versus the lost WAR from underperformance, and do a bounding analysis on the lost wins from managerial decisions, and injuries are going to run away with the “prize” in that sort of analysis. The Braves pretty much had the top-projected position player and pitcher going into the season, and one was lost after two starts while another didn’t make it two months. Yeah, there was a clear choice here.
In any case, the Braves will try to make this all moot by actually making the playoffs over their five remaining games.
