Atlanta Braves news and notes from Thursday. Hurricane Helene has led to a tough schedule for the Atlanta Braves, and it begins tonight with a three-game set against the Kansas City Royals. The Braves are coming off of two unexpected off days, where Chris Sale was slated to start on Wednesday, followed by Max Fried on Thursday.
Instead, the Braves will send out Max Fried tonight against the Royals, in hopes of setting up Chris Sale for what could be an elimination game next week. There are plenty of possible scenarios as we head into the final stretch, but the decision to save Sale could be what keeps Atlanta’s season alive.
The series gets underway tonight at 7:20 ET.
