Other than switching up their catchers again, the Braves are sticking with their usual look for this huge game. We’ve only got a few hours until the middle game of this huge three-game series between the Atlanta Braves and the New York Mets. Despite the fact that a massive weather system not named Helene is currently bearing down on the Atlanta metro area, tonight’s game is still scheduled to go on as planned and both teams have released their lineups so they’re definitely going to try to get this game in. So let’s talk about the lineups!
Here’s the lineup for the home team:

Just like last night’s lineup was the same lineup that they had during the weekend during Travis d’Arnaud’s appearances, this is the same lineup that the Braves had when Sean Murphy made his most recent appearance. Sean Murphy is indeed scheduled to play catcher for tonight’s game and the obvious hope is that he’ll be able to at least start to end his season on a high note. It’s been a rough year for Murphy but we’ll be able to sweep all of that under the rug if he’s able to come up big from now until whenever the Braves get done playing.
Here’s how the Mets are going to look:

He was in the on-deck circle to end last night’s game and he’ll be in the batter’s box to start tonight’s game. Francisco Lindor will be making his first start after suffering a back injury during their series with the Phillies. He missed eight games as a result of the injury and in a similar situation to Whit Merrifield, he can’t do any more structural damage to his back so it’s a matter of pain tolerance. Considering how important this situation is, it’s all-hands-on-deck as far as the Mets are concerned and so the NL MVP candidate will be leading the way for the Mets tonight.
Tonight’s game is currently scheduled (and boy, oh boy, is “currently scheduled” carrying a lot of weight, there) for a 7:20 pm E.T. start and will be televised on Bally Sports South. Additionally, you ca listen to the game on 680 The Fan/93.7 FM and on the 680 The Fan app as well.
