The Falcons look to take down the Super Bowl Champs at Mercedes-Benz Stadium Fresh off of a thrilling road victory in Philadelphia, the Atlanta Falcons (1-1) prepare to host the Kansas City Chiefs (2-0) on Sunday Night Football. Despite their wild comeback win against the Eagles, these are still the Chiefs, and as such Atlanta opened as 4.5-point home underdogs, per FanDuel Sportsbook.
The final drive was the story for the Falcons, with quarterback Kirk Cousins connecting with receivers downfield to move the chains in a race against the clock. Out of timeouts and facing a six-point deficit, Cousins laced in passes to tight end Kyle Pitts and wide receiver Darnell Mooney before finally finding wide receiver Drake London in the end zone for the score to tie it up.
Due to a debatable unsportsmanlike conduct call on Drake London for a celebration, kicker Younghoe Koo was not tasked with an extra point chip shot — instead, he would need to hit a 48-yarder to seal the game. He drilled it.
The Falcons will look to carry that momentum into Mercedes-Benz Stadium against the defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs, a squad that required some late-game kick heroics to top the Bengals on Sunday. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes was not at his best in that tilt, completing 18 of 25 passes for 151 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions.
Atlanta is 3-7 all-time against Kansas City, with the Falcons dropping the last two contests.
