He’s already back in the lineup, which is great to see after the scenes on Tuesday. We’ve got lineups for tonight’s series opener between the Atlanta Braves and the Toronto Blue Jays. The good news is that a familiar face is in back in the lineup following an injury scare and there’s a tiny bit of lineup shuffling going on as a result of that return.

Whit Merrifield has returned to the lineup after missing the past couple of games following an extremely scary hit-by-pitch that he suffered back when Colorado was in town. What’s interesting is that he’s batting second and Jorge Soler has moved down to fifth in the lineup. Soler had been batting right behind Michael Harris II for a while now but apparently Brian Snitker feels like Merrifield is more likely to be effective following Harris in the lineup than Soler. With Marcell Ozuna and Matt Olson in front of him, let’s hope that Soler will be able to come up big and that they’ll also be on base in order for him to capitalize in any given situation.
Here’s Toronto’s lineup:

The top five for Toronto’s lineup is the exact same as it was back on Wednesday when they finished losing two out of two to the Phillies. The changes start at the sixth spot in the lineup, which is where Will Wagner is starting at second base. Leo Jiménez is moving over to shortstop and batting seventh and then Nathan Lukes is in right field and batting ninth while George Springer plays DH tonight.
You can watch the game on Bally Sports Southeast starting at 7:20 pm E.T. and you can listen to the game on 680 The Fan/93.7 FM while also using the 680 The Fan app to listen whereever you may be.
