Whit Merrifield is now hitting sixth Well, the Whit Merrifield leadoff experiment is over, at least temporarily:

Jarred Kelenic also gets his first start in six games, and his first start in left field in over a week. It’s hard to say much more about the lineup these days; between the injuries and the Braves’ lack of methodological rigor when creating one, it’s really more just like, “Hey, here’s some guys in some arrangement, yay.”
The Phillies are basically pushing the pedal down despite staving off the Braves with at least a split. Alec Bohm is still missing, but this is no Sunday lineup special:

Even J.T. Realmuto is starting in this series for a fourth time in a row, showing you that perhaps the Phillies are taking the Braves more seriously than the Braves take themselves. (Realmuto has started four or more games in a row at catcher a bunch of times this season, but lately, the only times he’s done so have involved series against the Braves.)
