The first-rounder struck out four across his three innings of work in his pro debut. Cam Caminiti and JR Ritchie made their debuts with their respective clubs on Saturday, in what was an action-packed day down on the farm. So, without further ado, let’s dive into it all.

Gwinnett came out on the short end of the stick on Friday, as the Stripers fell to Columbus by a 6-4 final on the night.
The Clippers scored first in this one, plating two runs in the top of the first off of Gwinnett starter Bryce Elder, scoring two runs to take a 2-0 lead. All told on the night, Elder went five innings while allowing just six hits. However, Elder allowed a whopping seven walks on the night during his start as that would prove to be the ultimate downfall for the Stripers.
With one out in the bottom of the second, Chadwick Tromp homered over the left field wall to make it a 2-1 game. After Columbus extended their lead to 3-1 in the top of the third, the Stipers tacked on another run in the home half as Andrew Velazquez scored on a Tromp single to make it a 3-2 game.
The Clippers scored one run in the top of the fourth to extend their lead to 4-2 and added on two more runs in the top of the sixth to make it a 6-2 game. In the home half, the Stripers managed to make some ground in reducing the deficit.
In the bottom of the sixth, Gwinnett scored once as Luke Waddell scored on a Alejo Lopez groundout to make it a 6-3 game. Then, in the bottom of the seventh, Baldwin would cross the plate on a Tromp single to make it a 6-4 lead for the Clippers.
That score would hold as the final, as the Stripers failed to mount a comeback in the final two innings in the loss for the Stripers.

Starter Lucas Braun struck out eight batters across six innings as Mississippi came way with a win over Pensacola on Friday.
The Braves jumped out to an early, 5-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Cal Conley was hit by a pitch to lead things off before David Fletcher singled to move Conley into scoring position. After a double steal, Conley scored on a ground out to give Mississippi the 1-0 lead. Ethan Workinger followed that up with a single of his own to plate Fletcher and make it a 2-0 Braves lead. After Yolbert Sanchez notched a single of his own, Codi Milligan tripled into center field to score Workinger and Sanchez to make it a 4-0 game. Milligan would proceed to score on an Adam Zebrowski groundout to extend the Mississippi lead to 5-0 on the night.
As for Mississippi’s starter, Lucas Braun went a solid six innings, but allowed four runs while striking out eight batters on the night.
The Braves wasted no time, scoring once more in the following frame as David Fletcher singled home Brandon Parker to extend the Braves lead to 6-0 in the top of the second.
Pensacola scored twice in the bottom of the second to cut the Braves’ lead to 6-2 on the night, and again scored two runs in the home half of the sixth to make it a 6-4 game. The Blue Wahoos scored once in the bottom of the seventh to cut the Mississippi lead to 6-5 before the Braves got that run back in the top of the eighth.
Workinger doubled and two batters later, he scored on a Milligan groundout to make it a 7-5 lead for Mississippi. Meanwhile, the Braves bullpen managed to hold true and close the door on the win, as Rolddy Munoz and Jorge Juan tossed a pair of scoreless innings on the night to preserve the lead as Mississippi held on to win by a 7-5 final.
(59-62) Rome Emperors 3, (70-53) Greensboro Grasshoppers 1

JR Ritchie’s first High-A performance was solid enough to lead Rome to a win, as the Emperors beat Greensboro by a 3-1 final on the night.
After allowing the Grasshoppers to score one run on a solo homer in the top of the first inning, Ritchie settled down the rest of the way, tossing six innings of one-run ball while striking out six and walking just one on the night.
Trailing 1-0, Rome was held scoreless over the first two innings. However, the Emperors bounced back in the bottom of the third. Joe Olsavsky reached on an error to leadoff the inning and he scored on a single off the bat off of Jacob Godman as he singled into into right field to make it a 1-1 game. Kevin Kilpatrick Jr. singled before he and Godman advanced on a balk to put a pair of runners in scoring position. Godman would score on a Grady groundout to make it a 2-1 game before Kilpatrick Jr. crossed the plate on a Drew Compton error to extend the lead to 3-1 on the night.
Giomar Diaz and Isaac Gallegos tossed three scoreless innings out of the bullpen to hold off Greensboro, as Rome held on to win by the 3-1 final on the night.
All told, Ritchie tossed six innings of three-hit, one-run ball on the night while striking out four in his first High-A start.

Atlanta’s 2024 first-rounder Cam Caminiti made his professional debut on Saturday and despite getting the loss, the 18-year-old showed signs of why the Braves took him with their top selection.
Across three innings, Caminiti allowed one run on three hits, while striking out four in the night in his first taste of professional ball.
Scoring the first run of the game off of Caminiti in the top of the second, Columbia took a 1-0 lead over Augusta early on. As the GreenJackets were held at bay, the Fireflies tacked on two runs in the top of the fourth inning to extend their lead to 3-0 on the night.
Caminiti gave way to the bullpen after the third inning, as relievers Hayder Ortiz and Anthony Garcia allowed one run each in their respective innings of work as the Fireflies extended their lead to 5-0 over Augusta on Friday.
After being held scoreless through the first eight innings, Augusta finally scored in the game’s final inning. Will Verdung ledoff the bottom of the ninth with a single before Titus Dumitru moved him to third — while Dumitru advanced to third on the play — to put a pair of runners in scoring position. A Mason Gurrera groundout scored Verdung to make it a 5-1 game before a Harry Owen groundout scored Dumitru to make it a 5-2 deficit for Augusta.
However, that would be the only offense that Augusta was able to score on Saturday as the GreenJackets fell short on the night by a 5-2 final.
