Atlanta Braves news and notes from Wednesday Chris Sale led the way once again in an unusually gritty performance to cap off a sweep of the Twins that took just about everything Atlanta had to offer. With every non-disastrous start at this point, Chris Sale comes ever closer to sealing his first career Cy Young at the ripe young age of 35 years old. It really would (and likely will) be a great achievement for one of the pitchers that has defined his era in the sport, but somehow never won one. It will also put him that much closer to the Hall of Fame, which he may not yet have solidified his case for. Sale leads the NL pitchers by 1.6 fWAR and the likely AL Cy Young winner, Tarik Skubal by 0.9 fWAR. The Braves have gotten more than they could have hoped for in that masterful trade.
