Atlanta Braves news and notes from Saturday The Braves have won three straight, and have taken four straight series since a brutal one in Colorado. They are only 5 games back of Philly in the division and play Philly four more times this season. The division is far from over, as Atlanta has steadied the ship of late and the Phillies have really struggled recently. The Braves have also created a bit of breathing room for themselves in the wild-card race, as they now lead the Mets by 2.5 games for the last wild-card spot and have 5.0 games over the next closest team (the Giants). They are also only 2.0 games back of the Padres and 3.5 games back of the Diamondbacks for the first and second wild-card spots. Things certainly feel less dire than a few weeks ago and the division is in play, but the biggest thing is to get a ticket to the playoffs and then anything can happen.
