He's been getting it done at the plate lately and now he's about to get some more ABs tonight. The lineups are officially out for tonight's middle game of this three-game series between the Atlanta Braves and the Philadelphia Phillies. I've already given you an idea of what to expect based on the title, so let's not waste too much more time and let's start getting into it.
Here's the lineup for the Braves:

The biggest change in the lineup tonight is that Whit Merrifield has moved up from batting ninth to batting second. This is a move that's been coming for a while, as Merrifield's performance with the Braves has been night and day when compared to what he was doing while with the Phillies. Merrifield is currently sitting on a slash line of .259/.386/.414 over 72 plate appearances so far — including a wOBA of .355 and a wRC+ of 127.
Again, this is night and day when compared to what he was doing with Philadelphia and if he can keep it up in the second spot then it would be safe to say that he's going to play a big role in whether or not Atlanta can get into the Postseason this year.
Meanwhile, here's Philadelphia's lineup:
Phillies lineup, 8/21 at ATL. 7:20pm game time on NBCSP/94WIP. Schwarber DHTurner 6Harper 3Bohm 5Castellanos 9Realmuto 2Wilson 7Sosa 4Rojas 8 Nola RHP— Patrick Gordon (@PGordonPBR) August 21, 2024
One-through-five is the exact same for Philadelphia tonight as it was last night. The main changes have been made at the lower end of the order, which is where Weston Wilson is getting the start in left in lieu of Brandon Marsh and Edmundo Sosa is playing second base while Bryson Stott sits. Let's see how these changes work out for Philadelphia tonight — hopefully they won't work out!
Tonight's game is scheduled to start at 7:20 P.M. E.T. and will be televised on Bally Sports South. Additionally, you can listen to the game on 680 The Fan/93.7 FM.
