Fan confidence for the Braves has wained as the season has progressed To say that the 2024 season hasn’t gone as expected for the Atlanta Braves would be an understatement. They were coming off a record breaking season in 2023 where they led the majors in virtually every offensive category and had one of the best preseason projections that we had seen in a long time. They also had the reigning National League MVP in Ronald Acuña Jr. and one of the favorites to take home the Cy Young Award in Spencer Strider.
Of course if you have been following along you know, that Strider got hurt after two starts and Acuña suffered a torn ACL in late May. They have also battled through a long list of injuries to other key players and have largely underperformed offensively with the exception of Marcell Ozuna.
The Braves currently have a 2.0 game edge over the New York Mets for the final Wild Card spot. They are 4.5 games back of the Arizona Diamondbacks and the San Diego Padres in the Wild Card race. Our SB Nation Reacts question this week was simple and asked fans whether or not they believed Atlanta would make the postseason? Sixty-four percent answered yes.

I don’t have much to add other than 64% seems low to me. The team is slowly getting healthier and the pitching has been solid all season. Still, they have backed themselves into a position where one bad stretch could have them on the outside looking in.
Thanks to everyone that voted, we will do it again next week.
