Dylan Lee, upon command request, is back in Atlanta. He doesn’t replace who you think, though. The Braves have made a roster addition this afternoon before their game with the San Francisco Giants, but the subtraction is a little unexpected.
The #Braves today recalled LHP Dylan Lee to Atlanta and placed LHP A.J. Minter on the 15-day injured list with left hip inflammation.— Atlanta Braves (@Braves) August 12, 2024
Lefty Dylan Lee is back in the active roster today after a eight-day absence in Gwinnett. Dylan is having a terrific year with a 2.00/3.09/3.65 line in 45 innings with a 49/14 K/BB rate. In the time Lee has been away, the Braves bullpen has thrown 30 2⁄3 innings of 8.51 ERA ball (Luke Jackson says hi). Going to the injured list will be A.J. Minter, who took the loss for Friday’s night’s game in Colorado. He will rest and hopefully be ready for the stretch run, such as it appears to be.
Dylan Lee was missed and his return to the clubhouse probably mirrors that gif where the guy holding pizza walks into a burning apartment. Hopefully, the lefty can start to put out some fires.
Tough deal for A.J. Minter, who is once again on the injured list because of his left hip. The Braves aren’t yet sure if he’ll pitch again this season, as he must be evaluated before they know everything. https://t.co/khnNXVoZJx— Justin Toscano (@JustinCToscano) August 12, 2024
The summer of injuries continues as Minter’s reoccurring left hip issue appears to threaten his season.
