The outfielder left the game after the third inning. Atlanta Braves outfielder Ramón Laureano left tonight’s game against the Colorado Rockies after the third inning when he was pinch-hit for by outfielder Adam Duvall. According to the team’s official social media account, he was removed due to soreness in his right heel.

Prior to being lifted for Duvall, Laureano was unable to make a play on a ball hit into shallow right-center field that was not caught when Laureano, right fielder Jorge Soler and second baseman Whit Merrifield all converged on the ball. It appears Laureano’s heel issue may have been a factor in the misplay, as seen in the post by MLB.com’s Mark Bowman below.

Laureano, who joined the Braves earlier this season after being released by the Cleveland Guardians. He signed a a minor league contact with Atlanta but joined the big league club on June 15 before missing time in mid-July due to an oblique issue.
In 26 games with Atlanta, the outfielder has slashed .269/.279/.478 with three home runs.
