Atlanta Braves news and notes from Wednesday The Braves swapped out depth arms Wednesday, as they continue a miserable time at the major league level. Dodd has not been particularly strong in Gwinnett this year, with a 4.61 FIP and a 4.69 xFIP this year. Elder has been extremely up and down this season in Atlanta and Dodd may only be up for a few days. The Braves could really use something consistent out of that sixth rotation spot...or to stop using the sixth rotation spot in the home stretch of the season. Fortunately, Sale, Fried, Lopez, Schwellenbach, and Morton have been anywhere from great to solid this season. Now if only the offense could get any type of luck and/or start playing better...
Braves News
The Braves called up Dylan Dodd, who made first big league appearance of the season (not very successfully) for Bryce Elder, following an awful start for Bryce.
The Braves had a pretty miserable loss for their fourth straight, riddled with awful batted ball luck early in the game, despite a gem from Chris Sale and decent offense.
MLB News
The Cardinals are signaling that they would like to extend Paul Goldschmidt, despite him having a down season this year at age 36.
The Red Sox put Tyler O’Neil on the IL with a left leg infection, bringing back Braves Legend Chris Martin back from his own IL stint.
The Dodgers placed fireballer Brusdar Graterol on the IL with a mild hamstring strain, leaving the window open for him to rejoin the team this season, amidst a flurry of IL moves.
The Rays activated Drew Rasmussen from the 60-day IL, coming back from internal brace UCL surgery that he had a little over a year ago.
