Atlanta Braves news and notes from Wednesday For the first time in what feels like quite a while, the vibes are good with this Braves’ team right now. They have won four of their last five games, brought back their most recent World Series MVP and their friendly neighborhood sliderman in a trade that cost very little, and are only 6.5 games back in the division (6 in the loss column), as Philadelphia has lost four straight. Matt Olson may have gotten his mojo back at the plate and reinforcements are coming back from injury. This team still has an outside shot at that division title, which would be a significantly bigger comeback than in 2022 with the Mets. They also have more than enough talent to win the World Series once everyone gets back healthy who is expected back this season. They will need their pitching to be dominant, but this team can still have a very successful season, despite the bad vibes of the last three months. Let’s buckle up for this home stretch, as they now face the remnants of the Miami Marlins post-trade-deadline.
Braves News
Atlanta added their trade acquisitions, Jorge Soler and Luke Jackson to the roster, optioning Bryce Elder and Nacho Alvarez.

Elsewhere, he previewed the upcoming four-game home series against the pitifully depleted Marlins.

Former Rays’ outfielder Brett Phillips is now trying to make it as a pitcher... and has hit 97 in an independent league game.
The Cardinals placed Lance Lynn on the 15-day IL with right knee inflammation, in a flurry of Wednesday moves.
Former top prospect involved in the Mookie Betts trade, Jeter Downs has signed with the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks in Japan.
