Atlanta Braves news and notes from Tuesday. Tuesday marked a busy day for all of Major League Baseball as the trade deadline arrived. The Atlanta Braves did not make additional external moves following Monday’s acquisition of Jorge Soler, but the club did announce that Bryce Elder was recalled to Atlanta prior to Tuesday’s game in Milwaukee.
Elder made a brilliant start to help lead the Braves to their 5-1 win over the Milwaukee Brewers. He tossed 6.1 frames of one-run ball. He struck out seven and surrendered one base on balls.

The Dodgers made two big moves, adding Jack Flaherty from the Tigers and Kevin Kiermaier from the Blue Jays.
The Pirates acquired LHP Josh Walker from the Mets in exchange for rookie Nicolas Carreno. The Mets designated Walker for assignment last week.
The Red Sox acquired reliever Lucas Sims from the Reds for a pitching prospect. The club also added Luis García from the Angels in exchange for four prospects.
The Blue Jays sent utilityman Isiah Kiner-Falefa to the Pirates in exchange for outfield prospect Charles McAdoo.
The Mets acquired reliever Huascar Brazoban from the Marlins in exchange for minor league infielder Wilfredo Lara. The club also acquired RHP Paul Blackburn from the A’s in exchange for pitching prospect Kade Morris. Reliever Tyler Zuber also joins the Mets after a trade with the Rays.
The Orioles added OF/DH Eloy Jimenez from the White Sox. In exchange, the White Sox get minor leaguer Trey McGough. The club also added OF Austin Slater and INF Livan Soto from the Reds in exchange for cash considerations. And finally, the club acquired starting pitcher Trevor Rogers from the Marlins in exchange for 2B/OF Connor Norby and OF Kyle Stowers.
The Phillies acquired reliever Tanner Banks from the White Sox in exchange for infield prospect William Bergolla.
The Padres acquired LHP Martin Perez from the Pirates. In exchange, pitching prospect Ronaldys Jimenez will go to Pittsburgh. The club also acquired closer Tanner Scott and RHP Bryan Hoeing from the Marlins for a pair of relievers and infielders.
The Yankees added reliever Enyel De Los Santos from the Padres in exchange for a minor league outfielder. The club also added RHP Mark Leiter Jr. and in exchange, sent INF Ben Cowles and RHP Jack Neely to the Cubs.
The Mariners acquired right-hander JT Chargois from the Marlins in exchange for minor leaguer Will Schomberg.
The Royals acquired Lucas Erceg from the A’s and Paul DeJong from the White Sox. In exchange, the A’s get two RHPs and an OF. The White Sox receive a minor league pitcher.
The Astros acquired reliever Caleb Ferguson from the Yankees in exchange for minor leaguer Kelly Austin and $750K in international signing bonus space.
The Twins added RHP Trevor Richards in a swap that sent a minor league infielder to the Blue Jays.
The Rays acquired outfielder Dylan Carlson from the Cardinals in exchange for right-hander Shawn Armstrong.
The Diamondbacks acquired reliever Dylan Floro from the Nationals in exchange for infielder Andres Chaparro. The club also added Josh Bell from the Marlins for a player to be named later.
The Giants acquired outfielder Mark Canha from the Tigers in exchange for pitching prospect Eric Silva.
The Phillies traded reliever Gregory Soto to the Orioles in exchange for two pitching prospects in Seth Johnson and Moises Chace.
The Reds acquired infielder Davis Wendzel from the Rangers in exchange for cash. The Rangers designated Wendzel for assignment on Monday.
The Giants dealt RHP Alex Cobb to the Guardians in exchange for a minor leaguer and a player to be named later. The club also sent RHP Mike Baumann to the Angels in exchange for cash.
