Outfielder Forrest Wall is headed to Miami after he was claimed off waivers by the Marlins. Wall, who spent the past two seasons with the Atlanta Braves, was designated for assignment on July 22 when the Braves added Nacho Alvarez Jr. and Whit Merrifield to the roster.

Wall is a great story in perseverance. He was drafted way back in 2014 but didn’t make his major league debut until last season with the Braves. He was part of the team’s postseason roster for the Division Series. Wall turned in a good performance during the Spring and broke camp with the team in 2024 although he saw limited playing time. He had a couple of stints on the active roster, but appeared in just 13 games while going 7-for-29 at the plate with three runs scored. He was 3-for-6 in stolen base attempts.
The Marlins optioned Wall to Triple A Jacksonville but hopefully we will see him in the majors again at some point.
