Shades of 2021 We all knew it was coming when Austin Riley left the game in the ninth last night to attend to his fatherly duties, and, well, here it is:

The Braves’ best hope might be that Nick Martinez has some kind of mental block about starting, because he’s been straight-up dominant as a reliever so far this year, after struggling as a starter in his first few tries. Alternatively, Chris Sale could throw a perfect game. Yeah, that’s the ticket.
Anyway, the Reds line up like this:

Austin Slater, Rece Hinds, and Santiago Espinal were all absent from the lineup yesterday, so basically Sale is going to have to mow through a bunch of righties to keep this one close and winnable.
