Atlanta Braves news and notes from Thursday. The Atlanta Braves wrapped up a four-game split with the Arizona Diamondbacks on Thursday night with a 1-0 final. Max Fried got the start, where he pitched six innings and made just one mistake to allow a solo home run. The Braves’ offense went down quietly, only tallying five hits on the night.
The Braves fall to 51-41 before heading to San Diego for the last series of the first half where they meet the Padres for a three-game set. The series is set to begin tonight at 9:40 ET. Spencer Schwellenbach, Reynaldo López, and Chris Sale are each penciled in to start a game.
The Braves aim to get back in the win column and end the first half on a high note.

The Baltimore Orioles acquired right-hander Colin Selby from the Kansas City Royals in exchange for cash considerations. He was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk. 26-year-old Selby was designated for assignment by the Royals recently.
The Chicago Cubs placed outfielder Cody Bellinger on the 10-day injured list with a fracture in his middle finger. Bellinger suffered the injury when he was hit by a pitch on Wednesday.
The Toronto Blue Jays have placed outfielder Kevin Kiermaier on waivers. If he goes unclaimed, the Blue Jays can keep him on the 40-man, outright him, or release him.
