Atlanta Braves news and notes from Tuesday. Ahead of Tuesday night’s game in Phoenix, the Atlanta Braves announced that they have reinstated right-hander AJ Smith-Shawver from the injured list. To make room on the active roster, the club optioned right-hander Bryce Elder to Triple-A Gwinnett.

Smith-Shawver landed on the 15-day IL on May 24 due to a left oblique strain he suffered in his season debut. Since then, he made one rehab start with the Rome Emperors, where he tossed two innings, striking out four and surrendering a run. For now, he will likely be used out of the bullpen.
Elder started Monday night’s game, going five innings of three-run ball.

The San Francisco Giants made a flurry of roster moves, reinstating Blake Snell, Wilmer Flores, and Thairo Estrada. The club also designated shortstop Nick Ahmed for assignment.
The Los Angeles Dodgers placed right-hander Tyler Glasnow on the 15-day injured list with lower back tightness. In a corresponding move, the club recalled righty Michael Petersen.
The Philadelphia Phillies reinstated Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber from the injured list and designated outfielder David Dahl for assignment.
The Miami Marlins signed right-hander Adam Oller to a minor league deal. The 29-year-old will report to Triple-A Jacksonville.
