Adam Duvall and Luke Williams will start in the outfield corners as the Braves begin a three-game series against the Pirates. The Atlanta Braves return to Truist Park Friday where they will begin a long homestand with a three-game series against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Charlie Morton will be on the mound for Atlanta while Pittsburgh will go with lefty Martín Pérez.
Adam Duvall is back in the starting lineup for the third straight game despite going 0-for-7 with five strikeouts over the last two games. Duvall’s numbers look much better against left-handed pitchers this season, but he hasn’t hit anyone in June going 9-for-77 with 28 strikeouts. Luke Williams will get the start in left field and will bat ninth.
Ramon Laureano is absent from the lineup for the second straight game. Hopefully we will find out during the pregame if Laureano is dealing with something physically or if this is just a coach’s decision.
