Atlanta Braves news and notes from Thursday. The Atlanta Braves are coming off a series loss in St. Louis and a loss to the worst team in the majors. Up next, the Braves kick off a homestand with a three-game set against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The Braves enter play at 44-35 and stand eight games out of the division lead. The Pirates come in at third in the NL Central with a 39-41 record.
Charlie Morton, Max Fried, and Spencer Schwellenbach are each slated to make a start over the weekend. Saturday’s game is definitely the most notable pitching matchup, as the Pirates are sending out rookie Paul Skenes.
The series begins tonight at 7:20 ET, and hopefully, the Braves will snap their two-game losing streak.
