Sean Murphy gets a day off and Snitker swapped the catcher spot with Arcia’s spot in the lineup, but otherwise keeps the lineup the same from Saturday. Sean Murphy gets a day off and Snitker swapped the catcher spot with Arcia’s spot in the lineup, but otherwise keeps the lineup the same from Saturday. Adam Duvall bats fifth again, as a result of a combination of Snitker’s faith in him, injuries, and severe underperformance of some of Atlanta’s star players. Ozuna has been the driving force of the lineup all year and the rest has simply not done enough around him, compared to what they are capable of. Hopefully they can do enough to back the debuting Waldrep.

On the Nationals side, they will run with the same lineup as yesterday, leading off with their breakout shortstop, CJ Abrams, with a mix of grizzled veterans and graduated Washington prospects behind him. Abrams only has a 107 wRC+ on the season, but a much better xwOBA than his wOBA, which is tremendously encouraging for the young shortstop who was traded for Juan Soto from San Diego and has taken a few years to reach a high level of play in the majors.
